Clean Crunchy Granola!

I find that a little bit of all-natural granola is a great source of fuel before workouts. It’s also a guilt-free treat when you desperately need something sweet! This recipe is one of my favourites because the granola stays nice and chunky. Hope you enjoy it! πŸ™‚

6 cups large flake oats
1/4 cup flax meal
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp sea salt
3 cups whole almonds
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
3 tbsp olive oil
2 cups applesauce
1/2 – 2/3 cups natural honey or agave syrup (depending on how sweet you like your granola!)
2 cups dried cranberries or raisins or dried apple bits (or a bit of each!)

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the first 8 ingredients
  3. Then, add in the oil, applesauce and honey or agave syrup
  4. Mix well using your hands until everything is well coated
  5. Spread mixture between two baking sheets lined with parchment paper and bake
  6. Turning mixture frequently and rotate pans until the mixture is dry and golden, approximately an hour
  7. Once done, add in the dried fruit and let it cool
  8. ENJOY!!! πŸ™‚Β
